Welcome to Reports & Tax
Reports & Tax is where your data becomes decisions. Every mile you drove, every dollar you earned, every expense you logged — it all flows into six report suites, a full Schedule C Helper, a Quarterly Tax Estimator, and exportable PDFs and CSVs. Whether you're checking tonight's earnings or handing your accountant a year-end package, this is where it happens. In this tutorial, you'll walk through 10 steps covering every report and export tool in TrakMiles Pro.
1
The Reports Hub
Tap the Reports tab at the bottom of the screen. At the top, a 4-pillar hero shows your key stats at a glance. Below that, Quick Actions take you to Mileage, Revenue, Expense, and Time Clock reports. The Financial Reports section has your P&L and Balance Sheet. And at the bottom, the Tax, Reports, & Export Center holds your Schedule C Helper, Tax Estimator, PDF reports, CSV exports, and more. Time Clock Reports has its own dedicated tutorial — everything else is covered here.
📍 Reports Tab (bottom nav)
2
Mileage Reports
Tap Mileage Charts & Analytics. The Summary tab shows total miles, trip count, average distance, longest and shortest trips, business vs personal breakdown, and average speed. Switch to Charts for a Miles by Day bar chart and a Miles Comparison chart showing this period vs the last. Filter by date range, trip purpose, or vehicle. Tap any bar for a tooltip with exact values. The Mileage Tax Deduction summary shows your total business miles, IRS rate, and deduction amount per vehicle.
📍 Reports → Mileage Charts & Analytics
3
Revenue Reports
Tap Revenue Reports & Analytics. The Summary tab has ten metric cards — total revenue, total tips, total trips, average per day, dollars per hour, dollars per mile, best day, tip rate, average tip per trip, and revenue days. Switch to Charts for earnings by day with a hours-worked overlay line, plus earnings comparison, dollars-per-hour comparison, and dollars-per-mile comparison charts. Filter by date range, payor, or deposit account. Use Revenue by Payor in the Tax Center for a full breakdown of earnings by platform.
📍 Reports → Revenue Reports & Analytics
4
Expense Reports
Tap Expense Reports & Analytics. The Summary tab shows total expenses, transaction count, average per day, your top category, top vendor, and largest single expense. Charts show spending by day and category breakdown. Filter by date range, category, vendor, or account. For a full vendor-by-vendor spending breakdown, use Expense by Vendor in the Tax Center — it shows exactly where your money goes and which vendors drive the most cost.
📍 Reports → Expense Reports & Analytics
5
Profit & Loss Statement
Under Financial Reports, tap Profit & Loss. This is your formal P&L — total revenue at the top, total expenses below, and your net profit or loss at the bottom. Revenue is broken out by payor. Expenses are organized by IRS Schedule C category. The report includes a Standard Mileage Rate vs Actual Auto Expenses comparison so you can see which deduction method saves you more money. Filter by date range to see any period.
📍 Reports → Financial Reports → Profit & Loss
6
Balance Sheet
Tap Balance Sheet under Financial Reports. This shows the financial position of your business — your assets (bank accounts, cash), liabilities (credit cards, loans), and equity. Account balances are calculated from your double-entry journal entries. Use this to see your total cash position, how much you owe on credit cards, and your overall net worth from your gig business.
📍 Reports → Financial Reports → Balance Sheet
7
Schedule C Helper
In the Tax Center, tap Schedule C Helper. Select your tax year at the top. Part I shows your gross income with a breakdown by payor. Part II lists every IRS Schedule C expense line — Lines 8 through 27 — with your totals per category. Line 9 gets special treatment: a toggle compares Standard Mileage Rate vs Actual Auto Expenses and marks the better option with a green "BETTER" badge. At the bottom, a summary shows Lines 7 through 31, your estimated SE tax, and a suggested quarterly payment amount.
📍 Reports → Tax Center → Schedule C Helper
8
Quarterly Tax Estimator
Tap Quarterly Tax Estimator in the Tax Center. A YTD summary card shows your net profit, estimated SE tax owed, total revenue, and deductions. After 14 days of data, an annual projection appears showing your full-year pace. Below, four quarter cards show revenue, deductions, and net profit per quarter with estimated SE tax and the IRS due date. Each card has a color-coded status — Past Due in red, Due Soon in amber, Upcoming in blue. Never get surprised by a tax bill again.
📍 Reports → Tax Center → Quarterly Tax Estimator
9
Performance Comparison
Tap Performance Comparison in the Tax Center. Choose your view: Month vs Month, Quarter vs Quarter, or Year vs Year. Each comparison shows revenue, expenses, net profit, miles driven, and hours worked side by side with the prior period. Green and red percentage badges show whether you're up or down. This is how you answer the real questions — "Am I earning more this month?" "Are my expenses growing?" "Is my business actually improving?" — with hard numbers, not guesses.
📍 Reports → Tax Center → Performance Comparison
10
PDF Reports & CSV Export
In the Tax Center, tap PDF Reports to generate professional downloadable reports — Profit & Loss Statement, Schedule C Summary, IRS-compliant Mileage Log with odometer readings, and Expense Summary. Share them with your accountant or save for your records. Tap CSV Export to download raw data — Trips, Revenue, Expenses, and Time Entries — as spreadsheet files. Use Export All to bundle everything into one package. When tax time comes, your accountant gets everything they need in one tap.

Stop Guessing. Start Knowing.

Most gig workers know roughly what they earn but have no idea what they actually keep. After gas, phone bills, insurance, and self-employment tax, your take-home can be 40% less than your gross. TrakMiles Pro's reporting suite gives you the complete picture — revenue by platform, expenses by IRS category, net profit, tax estimates, and period-over-period comparisons — so you can make smarter decisions about which shifts to work, which expenses to cut, and how much to set aside for taxes.

When tax season arrives, hand your accountant a Schedule C Helper printout, a P&L statement, and an IRS-compliant mileage log. Or file yourself with confidence — every number maps directly to your tax forms.
